About Me

I am a teacher and library media specialist at a large elementary school in midcoast Maine. Teaching and researching is in my DNA. I credit my grandfather for giving me a constant thirst for knowledge. The process of growing flowers is equally as important as the final product, a beautiful home garden. Experimenting with seeds, tubers, and bulbs and how they grow intrigues me. Researching small flower farms and seed producers challenges me. Being in my plant room calms me and focuses me. Growing things connects me to my grandparents and my mother, avid gardeners who gifted me with a love of gardening and a passion for learning. Sharing, teaching and connecting with other gardeners motivates me to continue learning and researching and experimenting.

You can grow along with me through social media. I don’t do Facebook, it hurts my brain and for some reason immediately raises my anxiety levels, but I do post to Instagram, and if the technology gods are on my side, my posts will cross post to Facebook. If you message me through Facebook, I probably won’t see it because of the whole avoidance thing. If you want to share something with me or ask a question, email me LavenderBlueBBH@gmail.com

My seedlings and plants will be available by subscription. I hope to start this in June of 2025. Each subscription will include around 30 plants; annuals, perennials, herbs, and foliage, for around $150 and will be limited to 12 clients. Each growing season will have one or two bonus options for subscribers. Selections will change from year to year to keep things interesting.
