Fall planted perennials are ones that bloom very early in the spring like Rose Rhapsody Salvia or perennials that don’t bloom the first year like some Echinacea or Daisies. You plant them in late August so that they can get established in cooler weather rather than in hot summer sun and possible drought conditions. This makes for a happier, healthier plant. This may also be a time to add fall colors to your pot garden with some annuals or to pot up some geraniums or coleus for house plants.
Perennial choices: Foxglove, Salvia, Lavender, Cone Flower, Delphinium, Globe Thistle, Sea Holly, Yarrow, Daisy. Choose 2 varieties, 8 plants for each variety, total is 16.
Annual choices: Dwarf zinnia, multicolored, Dwarf zinnia, single color, Rudbeckia, Viola. Choose 3 varieties, 6 of each, 18 plants. The total number of plants is 34. You can add on 3 potted geraniums or 3 potted coleus for an additional $15 or one potted mum in an 8” pot for and additional $25.
You can choose to eliminate one variety in favor of double of another variety. Deadline for orders is June 1. Specific varieties change from year-to-year. Substitutions may need to be made for unexpected planting problems. Plants will be in healthy condition when you pick them up. I can’t guarantee what happens once they leave here. Contact me if you have any questions or preferences. Pick-up is the weekend before Labor Day weekend.
